Jotun COSCO Marine Coatings (HK) Limited, a joint venture between COSCO SHIPPING International and Jotun A/S, is mainly engaged in the production and sale of marine coatings in Mainland China. Jotun COSCO is the largest marine coatings manufacturer in China in terms of annual sales volume.
Jotun COSCO has a coating manufacturing plant in Qingdao with a maximum annual production capacity of 50,000 liters or about 67,500 tonnes. The factory has leading production facilities and environmentally friendly technologies in Asia. Jotun COSCO’s SeaQuantum is the leading silylacrylate antifouling globally and has been applied to over 10,000 vessels. The state-ofthe-art chemically hydrolysing antifouling coatings provide excellent fouling protection and incomparable hull performance up to 90 months. They offer better fuel saving potential than any other products in the market.
Jotun COSCO’s Hull Performance Solutions are designed to maximise hull performance and thereby reduce both fuel cost and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The solutions combine state-of-the-art antifouling and application technologies with reliable performance measurements and high performance guarantee.
HPS can be expected to deliver a 15% propulsion efficiency gain and a 8.5% fuel cost and GHG emission saving as compared to a market average alternative.
COSCO Europe, 10,000 TEU container ship owned and operated by COSCO SHIPPING Group, applied Jotun COSCO’s HPS at drydocking, which was expected to deliver USD 7.5 million fuel cost saving and a 36,000 ton carbon emission reduction over 5 years
