(28 August 2026, Hong Kong) The board of directors (“the Board”) of COSCO SHIPPING International (Hong Kong) Limited (“COSCO SHIPPING International (Hong Kong)” or the “Company”, stock code: 00517.HK) today announced the unaudited condensed consolidated results of the Company and its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Group’’) for the six months ended 30th June 2026.
Revenue achieved year‑on‑year growth, with profits from core shipping business steadily improving
In the first half of 2026, profit attributable to equity holders of the Company was HK$485,637,000 (2025: HK$487,223,000), while the basic and diluted earnings per share was 33.13HK cents (2025: 33.24 HK cents), broadly in line with the same period last year.
Amid cost headwinds stemming from oil‑price volatility, the Group leveraged its industrial‑chain coordination strengths and pressed ahead with operational efficiency improvements to effectively cushion the impact of external pressures. The resilient interim performance bears testament to the Group’s rigorous refined management and unwavering focus on unlocking value for core customers. Against the backdrop of a buoyant shipbuilding market and robust vessel deliveries, the Group’s core shipping services business delivered steady operations alongside sustained operational‑efficiency gains. In the first half of 2026, COSCO SHIPPING International's revenue rose by 8% year-on-year to HK$2,092,450,000. Profit before income tax from its core shipping services business increased by 7% year-on-year to HK$440,812,000.
By business segment, the profit before income tax of the production and sale of coatings segment recorded a 7% year-on-year increase in profit before income tax to HK$217,924,000, the insurance brokerage services segment saw its profit before income tax surge by 33% year-on-year to HK$111,676,000, while the supply of marine equipment and spare parts business maintained relatively stable performance, with profit before income tax rising by 4% year-on-year to HK$56,003,000.
Interim DPS of HK$0.33, Payout ratio nearly 100%
The Board has declared an interim dividend of 33.0 HK cents (2025: 33.0 HK cents) per share for the six months ended 30th June 2026, representing a payout ratio of nearly 100%.
Prospects
Looking forward, will closely align with the core theme of the shipping industry’s green, low-carbon, digital, and intelligent transformation, focusing on two major development trajectories—the “Digital Intelligent Ship Service Platform” and the “Marine New Energy Platform”—as it strives to build a technology-driven shipping services enterprise. The Group is advancing the deep integration of its marine equipment and spare parts supply business with its shipping services technology operations through implementation of digital technology enablement and innovative integrated digital solutions and push forward green and low carbon concept integration across the entire processes of the existing business.
The year 2026 marks the inaugural year of the “15th Five-Year Plan” period. As newbuilding orders enter a concentrated delivery phase, the large-scale release of tonnage will bring substantial growth opportunities for the Group's shipping services business volume. COSCO SHIPPING International will proactively align with national strategies and industry trends, accelerate the development of its technological innovation system, and strive to achieve leapfrog growth during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, remaining committed to delivering sustained value creation for its shareholders.
