On February 27, Qian Weizhong, Chairperson of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), led a delegation to visit the China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association and held discussions with Song Chunfeng, Managing Director of the Association.

During the meeting, Song Chunfeng first introduced the Association's recent operational performance, upgrades to its mutual protection and indemnity system, and future development plans. He highlighted the Association's professional strengths and innovative initiatives in areas such as risk prevention and control, compliance consulting, and green shipping-related protection, emphasising that the Association remains committed to serving its members and safeguarding the shipping industry by providing comprehensive support to enterprises in addressing maritime risks and adapting to industry transformation.

Qian Weizhong then provided an overview of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong)'s recent business developments and future strategic plans. He expressed gratitude to the Association for its long-standing professional support and efficient services in areas such as operational protection and risk management. In light of the new landscape of the transforming global shipping market, he proposed specific suggestions for deepening cooperation between the two parties. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening collaboration in risk prevention and control, as well as enhancing compliance management.

The two parties agreed to establish a more regular communication and coordination mechanism, further integrate their high-quality resources to achieve complementary advantages, precisely align development needs, and continuously optimise mutual protection services. They committed to advancing joint efforts in risk prevention, service sharing, and innovative collaboration, contributing to the development of China as a leading maritime nation.

 The meeting was attended by Wu Chao, Special Advisor of the China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association; Jia Peng, Deputy Managing Director; Qiao Qing, Assistant Managing Director; and relevant personnels of the Underwriting Department. From COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), attendees included Lin Jian, Vice President; and relevant personnels of the Operations Management Division and COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) Insurance Brokers.
