Qingdao CPPCC Chairman Meng Qingbin and Shandong Port Group General Manager Li Fengli Visit COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong)


On May 16, Meng Qingbin, Chairman of the Qingdao Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Li Fengli, General Manager of Shandong Port Group, led a delegation to visit COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). They held discussions with Qian Weizhong, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), and Zhu Changyu, President of the company.

Qian Weizhong extended a warm welcome to Meng Qingbin and Li Fengli, introducing COSCO SHIPPING Group's strategic presence in Hong Kong and the operational developments of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). He stated that COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) has maintained close cooperation with Qingdao City and Shandong Port Group. In recent years, aligned with COSCO SHIPPING Group's vision of becoming a "world-class shipping technology enterprise," COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) has been focusing on digital intelligence and green low-carbon initiatives, as well as four strategic emerging industries, vigorously advancing the development of the marine new energy industry chain and accelerating the cultivation of new productive forces in shipping services. He expressed hope to further strengthen collaboration with Qingdao City and Shandong Port Group, working in unison to contribute to the high-quality development of Shandong-Hong Kong cooperation.

Meng Qingbin expressed gratitude for the long-standing support of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) to Qingdao's economic and social development and provided an update on the construction of Qingdao's international shipping center. He emphasized that accelerating the development of an international shipping center is crucial for Qingdao's goal of becoming an international integrated transportation hub and advancing the city's practice of Chinese modernization. Qingdao will spare no effort to create a first-class business environment and provide high-quality service guarantees for enterprises operating in the city. He hoped that COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) would leverage its strengths to further support Qingdao in shipping logistics, marine services, technological innovation, and green low-carbon development, helping Qingdao build a higher-level international shipping center and jointly contribute to the implementation of national strategies.

Li Fengli thanked COSCO SHIPPING Group and COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) for their long-term support to Shandong Port. He noted that Shandong Port is currently focused on promoting the "Three Major Constructions" and accelerating its transformation from a "single-port operator" to a "comprehensive supply chain service provider." In recent years, the two sides have made positive progress in multi-level cooperation. He hoped that both parties would maintain close communication and deepen practical collaboration in green marine energy, technological innovation, and industrial capital investment, combining strengths and empowering each other to jointly contribute to the development of a strong transportation network and maritime power.
