COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) Visited Hainan SASAC

To thoroughly implement the strategic cooperation agreement between COSCO SHIPPING Group and the Hainan Provincial Government, Mr. Qian Weizhong, Chairperson of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), led a delegation to visit the Hainan Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) on October 15. They held discussions with Mr. Ma Yonghua, Director of the Hainan SASAC.
Ma Yonghua warmly welcomed Qian Weizhong and his delegation. He expressed appreciation for COSCO SHIPPING Group's long-term commitment to leveraging its shipping resources and strengths, actively participating in Hainan's infrastructure construction, empowering the development of the modern shipping industry, and integrating into the broader development of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). Ma stated that the Hainan FTP construction is currently at a critical stage. The Provincial SASAC will continue to optimise services and support, creating a better environment and providing improved policies for COSCO SHIPPING's development in Hainan. He expressed the hope that COSCO SHIPPING would use its Hainan Regional Headquarters as a strategic pivot, fully leverage the important role of central state-owned enterprises in serving national strategies, further broaden cooperation areas with Hainan's state-owned enterprises, innovate cooperation models, further integrate resources, deeply engage in the FTP's industrial planning, and jointly contribute to the high-quality economic and social development of Hainan.
Qian Weizhong expressed gratitude for the long-standing support and assistance from the Hainan SASAC for COSCO SHIPPING's development in Hainan. He introduced the business layout of COSCO SHIPPING Group in Hainan and the functional positioning of its Hainan Regional Headquarters. He stated that the Group's Hainan Regional Headquarters will fully leverage its strengths, take the lead in coordinating the Group's resources, explore regional market and industrial development opportunities, precisely align with local development needs, and effectively serve the national strategy of Hainan FTP construction. He emphasised actively promoting the implementation of strategic cooperation in areas such as green and low-carbon transformation, the development of high value-added shipping services, and the construction of logistics and supply chain systems, aiming to contribute more significantly to Hainan's accelerated construction of a world-class free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
The meeting was also attended by Level II Bureau Rank Official Ruan Liansen of the Hainan SASAC, and relevant personnels from the Party Building Office and the Central Enterprises Office; Deputy General Manager Ye Wei from Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holding Co., Ltd., along with relevant personnels from the Strategy and Corporation Management Division; as well as Director Liu Haitao, Vice President Lin Jian, Assistant to President Jia Guangchao from COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), and relevant personnels from the Operations Management Division.
