In order to thoroughly implement the content of the deepened strategic cooperation agreement between the COSCO SHIPPING Group and the Hainan Provincial Government, a delegation led by Qian Weizhong, Chairperson of the COSCO SHIPPING Group Hainan Regional Headquarters/COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong); Wang Ran, Chairperson of Hainan Harbor and Shipping; and Zhu Changyu, General Manager of the COSCO SHIPPING Group Hainan Regional Headquarters and President of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), visited the Haikou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government on December 16 for an exchange meeting with Fan Shaojun, Secretary of the Haikou Municipal Party Committee.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions focusing on leveraging the opportunities presented by the upcoming independent customs operation and further opening-up of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). They explored ways to utilise FTP policies effectively, fully harness the respective strengths of the central state-owned enterprise and the local government, and deepen cooperation in areas such as headquarters economy, shipping services, and port and shipping infrastructure construction. The discussions aimed at further enhancing the transportation capacity across the Qiongzhou Strait, providing high-quality shipping services to support the overall development of the Hainan FTP, and achieving win-win development.

The meeting was also attended by Haikou City leader Lu Min; Vice President Lin Jian, Assistant to President Jia Guangchao and Yu Lei of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong); as well as Chief Accountant Li Hua and Deputy General Manager Wang Feng of Hainan Harbor and Shipping.
