Li Fengli, General Manager of Shandong Port Group, and Liu Ying, Secretary of the CPC Laixi Municipal Committee, led a delegation to visit COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), where they held discussions with Chairperson Qian Weizhong and President Zhu Changyu of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong).
Qian Weizhong welcomed Li Fengli, Liu Ying and their delegation, introducing the business layout of COSCO SHIPPING Group in Hong Kong and the operational developments of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). He emphasised the company's focus on the dual tracks of digital intelligence and green and low-carbon, vigorously cultivating new momentum for the development of strategic emerging industries. Noting Shandong Port Group's robust progress toward becoming a world-class comprehensive port service provider, particularly its significant achievements in building smart and green ports, he expressed hope to strengthen communication and exchanges with Shandong Port Group and Laixi City, seek more opportunities for collaboration, leverage respective advantages, and jointly pioneer a new chapter of win-win cooperation between Shandong and Hong Kong.
Li Fengli expressed his appreciation for the sustained support from COSCO SHIPPING Group and COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). He noted that in recent years, Shandong Port Group has been committed to "three major initiatives," dedicated to building a "world-class supply chain comprehensive service system centred around ports," continuously accelerating technological innovation to empower industrial upgrades, and striving to build a green ship fuel bunkering hub in northern China. He affirmed that the two parties have a solid foundation and broad prospects for collaboration, expressing hope for a further integration of premium resources, an expansion of cooperative fields, precise alignment and efficient coordination to jointly contribute to the green, low-carbon transformation and digital development of the shipping industry.
Liu Ying introduced Laixi City's geographical location, business environment, and industrial development. She highlighted Laixi's current focus on project construction to accelerate the development of a modern industrial system, advance comprehensive rural revitalisation, and build new advantages for high-quality development. She expressed hope to explore collaborative pathways in the field of green new energy investment and production for ships, driving mutual development and benefits. She reaffirmed Laixi's steadfast commitment to creating a first-class business environment, providing a platform and creating conditions for the operations and development of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) in Laixi.
The meeting was also attended by Xu Donghui, Vice Mayor of Laixi City; representatives from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Laixi Sub-Council, Rizhuang Town, and Yuanshang Town; as well as Wang Yong, Chief Accountant of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), and relevant personnels from capital and investment operation division and operations management division.
