To thoroughly implement the content of the deepened strategic cooperation agreement between the COSCO SHIPPING Group and the Hainan Provincial Government, Chairperson Qian Weizhong and President Zhu Changyu of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) led a delegation to visit the Haikou Jiangdong New Area on November 5. They held discussions with Lu Min, Standing Committee Member of the Haikou Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Haikou City, and Wang Mingfu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Jiangdong New Area Administration.

Lu Min extended a warm welcome to Qian Weizhong and the delegation, highlighting the development positioning, industrial system, and support policies of Jiangdong New Area. He stated that Haikou Jiangdong New Area is focusing on the development positioning of "Two Zones, One Base," leveraging policy advantages such as zero tariffs and low tax rates to accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system, and has established a solid industrial foundation in areas such as airport economy and offshore trade. As a central enterprise and leader in the shipping industry, COSCO SHIPPING's resource advantages in marine logistics and supply chain management highly align with the development needs of the New Area. He expressed hope that this meeting would serve as a starting point for promoting the effective implementation of strategic cooperation between the two sides. Jiangdong New Area will fully provide policy support and coordination services to create a favourable business environment for COSCO SHIPPING's development in Hainan.

Qian Weizhong expressed gratitude for the long-standing support and assistance from Jiangdong New Area to COSCO SHIPPING and introduced COSCO SHIPPING's business layout in Hainan and the functional positioning of the Hainan Regional Headquarters. He stated that Jiangdong New Area, as a key park in the Hainan Free Trade Port, boasts superior location, overlapping policies, a first-class business environment, and broad development prospects. The Group's Hainan Regional Headquarters will thoroughly implement the requirements of the deepened strategic cooperation agreement between the Hainan Provincial Government and the COSCO SHIPPING Group, take the lead in coordinating the Group's resources in Hainan, and fully leverage COSCO SHIPPING's advantages of "passage + hub + network." It will establish a regular communication mechanism with Jiangdong New Area to jointly explore cooperation paths in areas such as the construction of cross-border logistics and supply chain systems, green and intelligent shipping services, and industrial synergistic upgrading, contributing greater strength to serving the national strategy of the Free Trade Port.

The meeting was also attended by Wu Zhenyu, Deputy Director of the Jiangdong New Area Administration; relevant responsible persons from the Investment Promotion Division Three, Investment Promotion Division Four, Industrial Services Division, and Planning and Coordination Division of the Industrial Development Bureau; as well as Vice President Lin Jian, Chief Accountant Wang Yong, Assistant to President Jia Guangchao of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), and relevant personnels from the Operations Management Division and Public Relations Division.
