COSCO SHIPPING Hong Kong visits Tianfu New District, Sichuan

On April 10, Qian Weizhong, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Hong Kong, led a team to visit Sichuan Tianfu New District and exchanged his views with Zhou Xianyi, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New District.

Zhou Xianyi expressed his sincere welcome to Qian Weizhong and his delegation, and briefly introduced the development of Tianfu New Area. He said that, Tianfu New Area is accelerating the construction of a Chinese-style modern park city pioneer area, and has long been committed to integrating into the overall cooperation between Sichuan-Hong Kong and Chengdu-Hong Kong. Zhou Xianyi expressed his willingness to explore further collaboration with COSCO SHIPPING Hong Kong given its rich experience in capital investment and technological innovation to achieve mutual success.

Qian Weizhong was amazed that Tianfu New Area has made significant achievements in economic and social development and park city construction in recent years, and has become a fertile ground for investment and a treasure land for business development. Also, he shared his views that COSCO SHIPPING Hong Kong is focusing on the development of intelligent digital ship services and the production and application of green fuel for ships, as its mean to accelerate the Company’s strategic layout. He emphasized his wishes for deeper connection of the two parties, in particular for the cooperation in green new energy production, and technological innovations.

Qian Weizhong and his delegation visited the Tianfu New District Planning Department, City Park Exhibition Hall, etc., and learned in detail about the planning and construction of the park cities in Tianfu New District.

Officers from Sichuan Tianfu New Area, Ma Xianghui, Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING Hong Kong, and the relevant officers of the President Office also joined the visit programme.
