Zhu Jianhui, President of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong), and Zhou Liliang, Vice President of the company, along with other Chinese-funded enterprises’ personnel, participated in the event.
They boarded the COSCO SHIPPING HIMALAYAS berthed at Kwai Chung Container Terminal. This ship was the first 14500TEU container ship of COSCO SHIPPING delivered in July 2017 and was mainly sailing between China and Northwest Europe.
The captain of COSCO SHIPPING HIMALAYAS warmly welcomed the visitors and led them to visit the ship. During the visit, the crew introduced various driving operations during the ocean voyage and the functions of the bridge equipment. Everyone also visited crew quarters, canteens, activity rooms and other living areas.
After leaving the ship, Zhang Fuyuan, Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING Container Line Agencies Ltd. led everyone to COSCO-HIT Building. Zhu Hanliang, General Manager of COSCO International Container Terminals (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and Asia Container Terminals, introduced dock operations details such as docking of docks, loading and unloading operations, etc., as well as a panoramic view of the port area through the sand table.
Everyone had expressed that it is a very rare opportunity to personally visit ocean-going ships and port operations. This event made everyone feel the charm of super-large container ships and have a more intuitive understanding of the shipping industry, especially the Hong Kong shipping industry. They also have a deeper understanding of COSCO SHIPPING.
This event is a useful exploration of COSCO SHIPPING’s “further consolidation of Hong Kong’s international shipping center” and has built a bridge of interaction among Chinese-funded enterprises, which is conducive to enhancing the cohesion of Chinese-funded enterprises in Hong Kong.
