On 7th May 2018, Hong Kong Marine Department and Hong Kong Shipowners Association co-organized the 2018 Joint Luncheon cum Award Ceremony. COSCO Shipping Group was awarded a total of 4 awards, including “The company with the highest gross tonnage on the Hong Kong Shipping Register for the year of 2017”, “The company that placed the most gross tonnage on Hong Kong Shipping Register for the year of 2017”, “The ship that crossed the 115 million gross tonnage mark of the Hong Kong Shipping Register” and “Outstanding Performance Award in Port State Control Inspection for the year of 2017”.

Those awards were issued by the Hong Kong Marine Department to deliver praises to the ship management companies, masters and crew for their support of the Hong Kong Shipping Register (HKSR) and their outstanding performance with Hong Kong ships and bravery on the high sea which made a great difference in the shipping industry.
