COSCO SHIPPING International is pleased to announce that the Company was granted the 10 Years Plus “Caring Company Logo” by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of the Company’s efforts and contributions to caring for the employees, the community and the environment for 10 consecutive years or above.

Since 2008, COSCO SHIPPING International has kicked off its corporate social responsibilities activities and has been paying effort unswervingly in giving back to the community and the country by caring its employees, promoting environmental protection, giving hands to the needy. For caring the employees, COSCO SHIPPING International always regards employees as valuable assets of the Company and actively performs its responsibility as a good employer. Apart from offering various kinds of employee-friendly paid leaves benefits, the Company holds group activities in various forms to encourage employees and their families to have a healthy and balanced life, and to strengthen team building and cohesion, so as to retain and attract corporate talents. The number of employees of the Group increased from 610 to more than 840 in the last decade.

Environmentally, COSCO SHIPPING International upholds green shipping. Through research and development, as well as promotion of water-borne and high performance anti-fouling marine coatings products, the Company helps shipping companies to save energy, reduce emission, and improve operational efficiency, which allows both enterprises and the environment to develop sustainably. Through various forms of training and education activities, as well as cooperating with the green bodies, the Company raised the staff’s awareness on green lifestyle and established low-carbon office culture.

In giving back to the society, COSCO SHIPPING International formulated a donation policy to support charitable organisations and their fund raising activities, as well as to help the underprivileged. Over the past decade, the Company has given charitable donations and related sponsorships of HK$2.12 million, in which the beneficiary organisations included WWF-Hong Kong, Hong Kong Community Chest, Sowers Action, Christian Action, Produce Green Foundation and Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council, etc. The Company also formed its volunteer team to encourage the staff and their family members to participate in volunteer services. Until now, a total of more than 2,050 service hours were recorded and 1,220 elderly, low income families and students from the mountainous area in the mainland were benefited. This reflected the Company had spared no efforts in caring and serving the community.

In future, the Company will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, and to contribute its efforts for the pursuit of the sustainable development of the enterprise, the community, the environment and the economy, as well as for the better and harmonious community. About the Caring Company Logo

Launched in 2002, at its 15th anniversary, the Caring Company Scheme was organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. It aims to build a caring community spirit and help the underprivileged through cultivating corporate citizenship and strategic partnership among business, public and non-profit making organisations. The scheme has been well received in Hong Kong. This year, a total of 3,478 enterprises/ organisations were nominated for the Caring Company Logo, in which 831 enterprises/ organisations fulfilled corporate social responsibilities for 10 consecutive years or above.
