On 6th November 2017, COSCO SHIPPING International won the “Citation for Environmental, Social and Governance Disclosure” and “Excellence Award for H Share & Red Chip Entries” in the Hong Kong Management Association (“HKMA”) 2017 Best Annual Reports Awards. This was the second consecutive year that COSCO SHIPPING International won those two awards, which demonstrated that the Company’s continued pursuit of excellence in the disclosure of annual report had been highly acclaimed by the professionals in the industry.

The Best Annual Reports Awards is an annual competition organised by HKMA. It has been held for more than four decades and has been well received in the industry. The panel of adjudicators of the Best Annual Reports Awards is composed of expertise from various professions, including accounting, finance, corporate governance and design industries, with stringent judging criteria. This year, the competition was fierce with 89 Hong Kong-listed enterprises and non-profit making organisations competing for the awards.

COSCO SHIPPING International always pursue for excellence in annual report production. Its 2016 annual report not only provided detailed management discussion and financial data analysis, as well as the key shareholder information as always, but also made further improvement in the disclosure of the environment, social and governance with reference to its own situation, in which the sections of workplace quality, employment standards, environmental protection, operating practices and community involvement were well elaborated. This enabled shareholders, investors and the public to fully understand the Company’s commitment and contribution while pursuing sustainable development.

Besides, COSCO SHIPPING International’s 2016 annual report also won Honors Award in the category of “Annual Reports – Print: Shipping Services”” of the 28th Annual International Galaxy Awards, further demonstrating that the Company’s production of annual report reached international standard.
