COSCO International’s 2015 annual report won the Citation for Environmental, Social and Governance Disclosure and Excellence Award for H Share & Red Chip Entries” in the Hong Kong Management Association (“HKMA”) 2016 Best Annual Reports Awards. These two awards were newly added by Hong Kong Management Association, which demonstrated that the Company kept abreast of the market trend and its continued effort in enhancing the disclosure of annual report had been highly acclaimed by the professionals in the industry.

The Best Annual Reports Awards is an annual competition organised by HKMA since 1973. It has been held for more than four decades and has been renowned in the industry. To keep pace with the market change, HKMA newly introduced several awards to recognize those companies which demonstrated outstanding performance in the related areas, i.e. Citation for Environmental, Social and Governance Disclosure, Excellence Award for Charitable Organizations, Excellence Award for First-Year Listed Companies, Excellence Award for H Share & Red Chip Entries and Excellence Award for Small Size Entries.

The theme of COSCO International’s 2015 annual report is“Transcending Progression with Innovation”. Apart from the detailed management discussion and financial data analysis, as well as the key shareholder information provided as always, the annual report made further improvement in its information disclosure of the environment, social and governance with reference to the disclosure requirement by the regulatory bodies and its own business development. This enabled shareholders, investors and the public to fully understand the Company’s operating performance, business prospects and its responsibility and contribution to the community.

The panel of adjudicators of the Best Annual Reports Awards is composed of expertise from various professions, such as accounting, finance, corporate governance and design industries, with stringent judging criteria. This year, the competition was fierce with about 80 Hong Kong-listed enterprises and non-profit making organisations competing for the awards.
