2015年07月06日
On 4th July 2015, a total of 18 members of COSCO International volunteer team accompanied with 35 children aged from 5 to 13 to join “2015 Green Living Fun Day”, co-organised by COSCO International and Christian Action at the One Hand Farm in Yuen Long in a sunny day. The activity aimed to help the children cultivate green awareness, and it also reflected COSCO International’s spirit of social responsibility in caring for the underprivileged and supporting green life.
As guided and led by the instructors, COSCO International’s volunteer team accompanied with the children to learn using natural resources to make recycled products and organic food, for example, cutting bamboo to make bamboo chopsticks themselves, using fresh vegetables and herbs to make dumplings, learning to use natural materials to make organic detergent and making leaf pattern cloth by dropped leaves. The day was hot but all participants kept talking and laughing in hustle and bustle, and their laughter echoed in the entire farm. All of them spent a pleasant weekend.
“2015 Green Living Fun Day” was a volunteer activity fully sponsored by COSCO International, and jointly organised with the Christian Action and the green body of One Hand Farm. The activity aimed to help newly arrived children easily adapt to the community, establish their social network and foster their environmental protection awareness. It was the second year. In future, COSCO International will continue to urge its staff to participate in various forms of volunteer service, so as to disseminate the message of caring for the community among its employees and their family members.
