2015年09月14日

COSCO International is pleased to announce that the Company was re-selected by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited as one of the 91 constituent members of Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index (“The Index”) out of numerous listed companies, in recognition of its outstanding performance in the areas of environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance. The new constituent members will come into effect on 14th September 2015.

The Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series is aimed to provide vital benchmarks against which the investment community can assess stocks of long term investment value in both Hong Kong and Mainland China based on their corporate sustainability. The Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index is designed to include more Medium and Small-Cap companies which demonstrated remarkable sustainability performance.

Mr. Xu Zhengjun, Managing Director of COSCO International, said, “It is really a boost to all employees of COSCO International for being selected once again as a constituent member of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index. It also showed the market’s recognition of the Company’s strong sustainability. In the future, COSCO International will continue to pay high attention to the sustainable development of the enterprise, environment and the society while striving for better operating performance, so as to make more contribution to the shareholders and all other stakeholders.”

The selection process of the Index is stringent, in which all selected listed companies should not only be screened by the basic criteria on liquidity and market capitalisation, but also verified and rated by Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency on the company’s performances in the areas of organisational governance, human rights, labour practices, environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues; and community involvement and development. The top 20% of the eligible securities with the highest sustainability performance will be selected as constituents of the Index.
