COSCO Kansai’s New Plant in Jinshan Shanghai Holds Grand Opening Ceremony cum Customer Appreciation Meeting

On 30th June 2015, a grand opening ceremony for operation of a new plant of COSCO Kansai Paint & Chemicals (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and customer appreciation meeting was held in Shanghai Jinshan Industrial Zone II. A total of approximately 200 guests attended the event. They included Mr. Zhang Liang, Vice Chairman of COSCO International and President of COSCO Hong Kong, Mr. Wu Shuxiong, Director of COSCO International and Vice President of COSCO Hong Kong, Mr. Xu Zhengjun, Managing Director of COSCO International and Vice President of COSCO Hong Kong and Chairman of COSCO Kansai, Mr. Hiroshi Ishino, President of Kansai Paint Co. Ltd, Mr Shinji, Asatsuma, General Manager of International Division of Kansai Paint Co. Ltd., Mr. Shen Shanzhou, Deputy District Mayor of Jinshan District of the PRC’s Government, Mr. Wang Mingfa, Director of Jinshan District Commission of Commerce, Ms. Sun Lijin, General Manager of Shanghai Jinshan Second Industrial Zone Development Co., Ltd, as well as customer representatives, government officials from various bureaus of Jinshan Industrial Zone II, and the management and employee representatives of COSCO Kansai.

 

The total investment value of COSCO Kansai’s new plant which covers an area of more than 90 acres in Jinshan, Shanghai, was approximately RMB 500 million. Since the kickoff of operation of the project in 2011, Jinshan new plant construction project has received strong support of the shareholders of COSCO Hong Kong, COSCO International and Japanese Kansai. During the plant construction period of more than a year, Mr. Zhang Liang, President of COSCO Hong Kong and Mr. Xu Zhengjun, Chairman of COSCO Kansai, have inspected and gave guidance at the site for several times. The builders overcame many difficulties, emphasized on construction safety to ensure the project schedule and the construction quality. The state-of-the-art equipment which help protect the environment, energy-saving measures, and the equipment technology are all in line with the Government’s requirements on energy saving and high efficiency. The whole project has become one of the benchmark projects in Jinshan Industrial Zone II.

 

The completion of the construction and commencement of operation of the new plant in Jinshan will further fortify the strategic landscape of COSCO Kansai in the Southern, Central and Northern China. It not only responded to the calling of “transformation and upgrading, innovation and development” by COSCO Hong Kong, but also started a new chapter in the development history of COSCO Kansai.
