Mr. Ye Weilong, Chairman of COSCO International, said, “It is a great encouragement for COSCO International being selected once again as a constituent member of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index. It also showed the market’s recognition of the Company’s strong sustainability. In the future, COSCO International will not live up to the investors’ expectation. While striving for better operating performance, we will continue to pay high attention to the sustainable development of the enterprise, environment and the society, so as to make more contributions to the shareholders and all other stakeholders.”

The Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series were launched in July 2010. It is aimed to provide vital benchmarks against which the investment community can assess stocks of long term investment value in both Hong Kong and Mainland China based on their corporate sustainability. The Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index is designed to include more Medium and Small-Cap companies which have strong sustainability performance. The constituent selection process is stringent, in which all selected listed companies should not only be screened by the basic criteria on market capitalization and trading turnover, but also verified and rated by a third party on the company’s performances in the areas of “Environmental Impact”, “Social Impact”, “Corporate Governance” and “Workplace Practices”. The Index is reviewed annually. In this year’s review, a certain adjustment was made while the total number in the Index will remain 69 constituent members.
